In a recent press release, South Korea's Deputy Foreign Minister for Climate Affairs, Mrs. Hyun Kim, emphasised the pivotal role of climate finance for developing countries as a key agenda item at COP29, Azernews reports.
She expressed strong confidence that, under Azerbaijan’s leadership, the conference will achieve significant progress on climate finance issues, particularly for developing and vulnerable nations.
“Climate change is a global challenge that demands a collective global response,” Mrs. Kim stated. “It is essential for all members of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) to work together with determination and resolve to address this pressing issue.”
Mrs. Kim also extended her congratulations to Azerbaijan for its role in hosting COP29 this November and wished success to both Azerbaijan and the COP29 organisers in their efforts to advance global climate action.
