Four powerful solar flares, one of which is classified as the highest level, occurred on the Sun on Friday night, Azernews reports.

Earlier, it was reported that an X1.3 flare had been detected. Scientists have since clarified its intensity, stating that "an X2.0 flare lasting 15 minutes was registered in sunspot group 3878 (N16E29)."

According to the IPG, three Class M flares also occurred on Friday night, with one of them approaching the highest Class X in intensity. "On November 1, at 00:54 Moscow time, an M9.5 flare lasting 55 minutes was registered in the X-ray range in sunspot group 3878 (N15E26)," the message states.

Another M-class flare occurred on Friday morning, according to the report.

Solar flares are classified into five categories—A, B, C, M, and X—based on their X-ray intensity. The minimum class, A0.0, corresponds to a radiation power of 10 nanoWatts per square meter in Earth orbit. Each subsequent class increases in power by a factor of ten. Flares are typically accompanied by emissions of solar plasma, which can provoke magnetic storms when they reach Earth.
