Nigerian Army kills 187, captures 262 in anti-terror operation

The Nigerian army killed at least 187 people and captured another 262 during an anti-terrorist operation that began a week ago, Azernews reports according to Major General Edward Buba, the official representative of the Nigerian Armed Forces.

Experts note that the Nigerian armed forces are primarily focused on combating the terrorist organization Boko Haram, which emerged in northern Nigeria in 2002.

In 2015, the Nigerian army dealt a significant blow to Boko Haram, greatly reducing the territory under its control.
