Boeing union members have accepted the latest proposal from the aircraft corporation, which is likely to end a strike that has lasted more than seven weeks, Azernews reports.

In early November, the media reported that Boeing had offered the striking employees improved contracts, including a 38% pay increase over four years.

"Boeing Co. employees voted to accept a new employment contract and end the strike, which disrupted the production of airliners for more than seven weeks," the agency said in a statement.

About 59% of the union members voted to accept the proposal.

The New York Times newspaper wrote in September that a strike by the Boeing mechanics union had significantly slowed production of passenger aircraft.

Boeing produces a wide range of civil and military aviation equipment and develops space programs.
