Solar panels have been installed in the Vatican Museums, Azernews reports.
A new solar panel roof was inaugurated in the “Cortile delle Corazze” hall at the entrance of the museum complex ahead of the Holy Jubilee Year to be celebrated in the Vatican. This project is part of the "green vision" for the Vatican announced by Pope Francis in June. Additionally, solar panels are being installed on the roof of a warehouse in the Vatican, with these works expected to be completed in the early months of next year. Another project involves the construction of charging stations for electric vehicles in the Vatican.
"The Vatican State has commitments on the international stage. We not only meet them but also set an example for other international realities. We have informed the international community about this at COP29. We have set goals for 2030 and are adhering to them," said Salvatore Farina, Head of the Vatican's Infrastructure and Services Department.
It is noteworthy that the Vatican is focusing on renewable sources and innovative projects to transition to green energy and achieve sustainable energy resources.
