Kyrgyzstan and China will sign a joint declaration and a number of bilateral documents that will give a new impetus to the development of strategic partnership between the two countries, Azernews reports.

This was stated in an interview with Xinhua by Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov, who will leave for China tomorrow on a state visit, where he will take part in the opening ceremony of the Asian Winter Games in Harbin.

"China has been and continues to be one of Kyrgyzstan's main trade and investment partners for many years... The joint efforts of our countries have led to record success: in 2024, the trade turnover between Kyrgyzstan and China reached $22.71 billion, according to customs authorities. This result confirms that our trade and economic cooperation continues to grow actively," he said.

Japarov said that currently it is necessary to focus on trade and economic cooperation. Kyrgyzstan is interested in developing mutual trade, diversifying it, and promoting joint investment projects. Priority sectors for the development of cooperation are agriculture and the processing industry, ecology, energy, electronic commerce, and the creation of a banking and financial platform.

Together with our Chinese partners, we continue to work on promoting the export of environmentally friendly agricultural products from Kyrgyzstan to China.

"Currently, protocols on the export of certain types of agricultural products are under approval by the parties. I am pleased to note that our Chinese friends are providing assistance and creating favorable conditions for opening the market for our products," said the President of Kyrgyzstan.
