Iran, Turkmenistan sign three MoUs on economic sectors

The Islamic Republic of Iran and Turkmenistan have signed three memorandums of understanding and a joint statement on expansion of economic cooperation.
The agreements and the joint statement were singed in the presence of President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and his Turkmen counterpart President Kurbanguly Berdymukhamedov.

The joint statement calls for expansion of relations between Tehran and Ashgabat in various economic fields including energy, transportation and communication.

During his two-day visit to the Central Asian Country, President Ahmadinejad is also planned attend inaugural ceremony for the second phase of Iran-Turkmenistan gas pipeline.

The 182-km pipeline is to transfer natural gas from Turkmenistan to Iran raising import of Turkmen gas to 14 billion cubic meters.
