Tbilisi court to bring in a verdict on those charged with Mukhrovani Military Mutiny

It was postponed to declare the verdict against the accused in Mukhrovani military mutiny until 11 January.
It was scheduled to declare the verdict for today, though judge of Tbilisi Civil Court Jemal Kopliani listened to the final words of only the four of the accused.

Levan Amiridze, Zurab Bzishvili, Kakhka Kobaidze and Giorgi Chalatashvili didn’t pleat guilty in their final words.

The trial was attended by one of the leader of Movement for United Georgia Eka Beselia and representatives of Human Rights Protector NGOs.

Procedural agreement was formed with the accused Sandodze and he was sentenced to 2 years of imprisonment.

20 people are left accused in the case not pleading guilty. They are accused in disobedience, mutiny and failure to inform about the crime. Public prosecutor’s office demands to imprison them from 4 to 30 years.

Public prosecutor’s office demands 30 years prison sentence for Koba Otanadze; 18 years prison sentence for Shota Gorgiashvili, 29 - for Levan Amiridze. Accuser demands 14 years and 6 months prison sentence for Koba Kobaladze.

Mukhrovani mutiny took place on 5 May, 2009.
