Armenian president: 2010 will be year of economic recovery

Armenian president Serzh Sargsyan says 2010 will be year of economic recovery for the country.
The president made the statement at the meeting on the country's ongoing policy of territorial management, outcomes of socio-economic development of the capital and regions in 2009, as well as plans for 2010.

“Noting that 2010 will be an important year for the country's economic recovery, Armenia president underlined that the effective solution of tasks will depend also responsible work of territorial administration and local self-government bodies,” the Armenian government’s press office said.

"In his turn, Yerevan’s mayor and provincial governors informed the President on outcome of the socio-economic development, priority issues of regional and community nature and work planned to address them," the press office said.

The meeting focused on a wide range of issues related to reforms of territorial administration and collection of community income, changes in the sphere of local taxes and duties, as well as trends in development of regional economies.

“Sargsyan stressed the need for careful attention to the citizens and their problems of territorial administration and instructed to intensify relationship between citizens and territorial governments.”
