Georgia's State Minister to present country's state strategy to CoE

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia reports that Iakobashvili will present the document to the deputy ministers of the organization member states at the 1076th session of the CoE on Feb. 3.

The debates around the document will be held after the presentation.

The same day, Iakobashvili, who is accompanied by David Rakviashvili, Deputy Minister for Reintegration Issues and Sergi Kapanadze, Director of International Organisations Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, will hold meeting with the Secretary General of the Council of Europe.

At the meeting, the issues concerning the involvement of the Council of Europe in the alleviation of the consequences of the 2008 Russian aggression and ongoing occupation of the Georgian territories, including the modalities of the established CoE reporting system will be conferred.

Within next few months the State Minister plans to visit international institutions in Brussels, Vienna and New York to present to international community detailed vision of the Georgian Government regarding the engagement of those citizens of Georgia, who currently reside inside the Russian occupied regions of Georgia.

The State Strategy will be complemented by the Action Plan, to be prepared in close co-ordination with and involvement of all the partner organisations and states.
