25 February 2010 [13:26] - TODAY.AZ
The Armenian Government is developing a package of measures to relieve the consequences of the expected rise in gas prices, Armenian Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan stated on Feb. 24.

He said that the package will soon be submitted to the President and public.

The measures aims to protect socially vulnerable sections of the Armenian population.

“The Government will find funds to compensate the socially vulnerable sections for the price rise,” the Premier said.

Armenia's Public Services Regulatory Commission is to make a decision on a 40-percent rise in the gas price for the Armenian population, and a 17-percent rise for economic entities on Feb. 26.
