Turkish President Abdullah Gul and German Chancellor Angela Merkel discussed on Monday Turkey's accession process to the European Union (EU) and integration of Turks living in Germany.
Presidential sources said Gul told Merkel that Turkish people living in Germany were going through a rapid integration process and achieved great success when compared with the past.
Merkel said significant progress was made on integration, adding that Turkish-descent citizens contributed a lot to the society.
She said further efforts should be exerted on integration.
