Georgian Deputy Foreign Minister Nino Kalandadze announced at a traditional briefing on Monday that following the legalization of a Turkey-Georgia bilateral agreement, both countries’ citizens will be able to cross the border solely on the basis of an ID card.
The two countries joined to introduce a simplified regime of border crossing which is said to already partially exist, but it does not apply to all border points.
"Both sides are interested in simplification of communications, as trade and economic relations have developed especially with Turkey, and we wish that they be further improved, " Kalandadze added.
