An international conference of the Black Sea basin countries’ Young Reformers Forum on the topic "Black Sea Reformers: national plans and international aid" has been opened in Batumi today.
The conference was opened by the Georgian Deputy Prime Minister Giorgi Baramidze. The participants are discussing the NATO and the EU’s role in the Black Sea region, the development of democracy, security, human rights, economic development and fight against corruption, as well as social reforms and media freedom.
The conference is held with the support of the Office of the Georgian State Minister on Integration into European and Euro-Atlantic structures and with the organization of the Center for Regional and International Studies, the Center for Political Studies, project of the German Marshall Fund, the Robert Bosch Foundation.
Similar conferences of the Young Reformers Forum of the Black Sea are held annually in the region’s different countries.
