Baku prepares for great show of 'Formula 1' cars - PHOTOS

The competition  of classic cars Formula 1 series and GT3 will be held in Baku  on October 26-28.

"The head of City Challenge Helmut Beyer himself decided on the competition venue," City Challenge coordinator Rene de Boer  said  at a news conference.

"We believe that the competition will take place at a high level. The event is divided into two parts - a sports and cultural. The cultural program includes several activities - theater performances, dance programs, performance of DJs, as well as performance of the popular Azerbaijani singer Miri Yusif ,” he said.

Also, shows for adults and children will be organized  at Baku Boulevard from 10.00 to 16.00

"The competition will be attended by leading car brands. Each car will have two drivers that will replace each other,”  he said. "Anyone wishing to enjoy the competition needs to buy tickets, which are distributed at a reasonable price.”

The project, organized by the City Challenge, will be broadcast online by the international TV channels. The competition that will be held with the support of the Azerbaijani Youth and Sport Ministry will be held on Neftchilar (from Azadlig Square) on a line length of 2.1 km. The two-day competition will be attended by 10 teams from Europe, two in each vehicle.
