Wagons of new generation to appear in Baku Metro

Baku Metro and Russian “Transmashholding” will sign an agreement on purchase of 15 wagons of new generation by the year end.
 
The head of the Baku Metro Taghi Ahmedov told journalists on Friday.
 
According to him, transport of the new wagons to Azerbaijan is planned in January-February of 2014.

"The new wagons are envisaged to be exploited within the new, "violet line" of the Baku Metro” - he said.
 
Ahmedov noted that under the signed contract five wagons have been brought to Azerbaijan previously and used for six months in order to train the drivers.
 
Transportation and exploitation of the new coaches in Baku will be free of charge.
 
Today, Baku Metro – it is 23 stations and 34,6 kilometers underground steel ways, 200 million people annual passenger turnover, as well.  The last metro station “Darnagul” was launched on June 29, 2011
 
Currently, simultaneous construction of the number of stations, “Bus station”, "Memar Ajami 2” in particular, is being carried out along with the construction work in the “Old Guneshli” settlement. Completion of the work in the direction of the “New Guneshli” settlement is planed by the end of 2015.
