
It is planned to commission the Gala-Shuvalan- Pirallahi highway in 2014, Azeryolservis under the Azerbaijani Transport Ministry told today.
According to the company, the length of the reconstructed Gala-Shuvalan- Pirallahi highway will be 21.7 kilometres with a width of 28 metres. A 6.9 kilometre section will consist of six lanes, while a 14.8 kilometre section will have four lanes.
According to the project, it is planned to construct two road junctions and one tunnel along the highway. Currently, the earth work has been completed on a 14.8 kilometre road section. A lower layer of asphalt concrete pavement was laid at a 12.2 kilometre section. It is planned to complete laying the asphalt concrete pavement without the top layer at the 14.8 kilometre road section by late 2013, the press service said.
