
Two earthquakes occurred in Shamakhi region of Azerbaijan, the Republican Seismological Service Center of the National Academy of Sciences (ANAS) said Aug. 27.
The first quake was recorded at 09:26 local time on August 27, 25 kilometers west of Gobustan in Shamakhi region. Its magnitude was 3.2. The epicenter was at a depth of seven kilometers. The earthquake was not felt.
The second earthquake occurred at 09:47 local time, 19 kilometers west of Gobustan, Shamakhi region.
The magnitude of the earthquake, the epicenter of which was at a depth of 17 kilometers, was 3.3. Tremors were not felt, according to the message.
Shamakhi city is located in the north of Azerbaijan, 118 km from Baku.
