During the last 12 years international organizations rendered aid to refugees and internally displaced people (IDP) of Azerbaijan in the amount of $640 million, the State Committee on Refugees and IDP of Azerbaijan told Trend.

The amount of aid, rendered last year by functioning in the country humanitarian organizations made up only $30 million. The Government of Azerbaijan spent $120 million for this period for refugees and IDPs. Currently 72 international humanitarian organizations are working in Azerbaijan and 23 national NGOs (including not-bank loan institutions), engaged in the problem of refugees and IDPs.
According to the official data, there are over 1 million refugees and IDPs, emerged at the result of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict, as well as about 15,000 refugees from third countries.
