Azerbaijani Human Rights Commissioner (Ombudswoman) Sabina Aliyeva participated at the international conference dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the Constitutional Court "Development of legislation through the application of constitutional norms", Azernews reports.
During her speech at the event attended by the leaders of the Constitutional Courts of Azerbaijan and a number of foreign countries, and representatives of state bodies, the Ombudswoman congratulated the chairman and staff of the Constitutional Court on the occasion of the anniversary and wished them new achievements in their activities.
Sabina Aliyeva noted that there is close cooperation between the Ombudsman institution and the Constitutional Court, and said that more than 40 inquiries addressed to the Constitutional Court by the Commissioner have been considered, and relevant decisions and resolutions have been adopted.
The Ombudswoman drew attention to the fact that the Constitutional Court has made great progress over the past 25 years and that it occupies a worthy place in the legal system of Azerbaijan. He also noted that the Constitutional Court made necessary contributions to the protection of human rights and freedoms and successfully coped with its duties.
Then, at the event, a printed material entitled "Cooperation between the Ombudsman and the Constitutional Court: a collection of acts (for the years 2002-2022)" was presented.
