Georgian special forces attacked Head of NAGA

16 March 2006 [09:15] - TODAY.AZ
Saakashvili's regime accuses Dashgin Gulmammadov of acting in concert with ex-chief of Georgia’s SSM Igor Georgadze and considers him as a separatist.

30 officers of the Georgian State Security Ministry (SSM), Security Service Department (SSD) and Georgian Attorney General's Office and 10 special militants made an attack on the president of National Assembly of Georgian Azerbaijanis (NAGA) Dashgin Gulmammadov's house in Gachagan village in Marneuli region, Georgia, and searched the house at 1.00 a.m on 14 March.

The NAGA's press service informed APA that Gulmamamdov's nephew, deputy chief of NAGA Security Service Muraz Gulmammadov was detained by force and taken to the prison of Georgian SSM.

Gulmammadov's 83-year-old father Gulmmamamd Gulmammadov faced harassment too.

Muraz Gulmammadov was released at 17.20 yesterday after Turkish ambassador in Tbilisi Mr.Ozzaim and head of Cultural Circle in Ankara Jamil Unal interfered in the incident.

Georgian law enforcement bodies continue the attack campaign against the Gulmammadovs.

Muraz was arrested by the Georgia's MIA and SSM for three times.
Dashgin together with his family escaped to Russia from preplanned assassination against him in Georgia on December 13, 2005.

"But in fact, Dashgin Gulmammadov claims Constitutional rights of Azerbaijanis and demands the Georgian government to allow Georgian Azerbaijanis hold posts as well as appoint Azerbaijanis to the post of executive power of regions populated by Azerbaijanis," the NAGA reported.
