Emin Sabitoglu's music thrills audience in Baku

A spectacular concert dedicated to the eminent composer, People's Artist Emin Sabitoglu has taken place in Shahriyar Culture Center, Azernews reports.

The musical evening was organized as part of the project "From Ganja to Baku" (G?nc?d?n Bak?ya), initiated by Ganja State Philharmonic Hall.

The audience was thrilled by Emin Sabitoglu's compositions like "G?nc?d?n g?lir?m", "Güll?rim", "K?p?n?k", "S?n olmu?am", "Gözümd? Leylis?n", "Uzaq ya ??l ada", "?l n? göz?ldir", "Pay?z g?ldi", "Çiç?k ya????", "?ükriyy?", "T?kc? ümid qals?n", "Aman ayr?l?q", "Can Az?rbaycan" performed by People's Artist Heydar Anatollu, soloists of the Ganja Philharmonic Hall, Maharram Gasimov, Zamina Mustafayeva, Rustam Jafarov, Khayal Aliyev, Ali Mammadov, Eminagha Sadigov, Aynur Iskandarli, Amil Hasanoglu and Vasif Bayramov. The singers were accompanied by the Variety Ensemble of the Ganja State Philharmonic Hall under the baton of Shahriyar Taghiyev. The concert was directed by Honored Artist Inara Babayeva.

Emin Sabitoglu (Emin Sabit oglu Mahmudov, November 2, 1937 - November 18, 2000) was the author of many works across various musical genres, including symphonies, three symphonic poems, three cantatas, a string quartet, and poems for violin and piano, nine musical comedies, and over 600 songs.

He wrote a large number of works for cinema and theatre. His songs, such as "D?y?rl?r," "A? çiç?k," "Fisherman's Song," "Gilavar," "Tea," "Bak?, sabah?n xeyir," "Axtar s?n m?ni," "Ayr?lma m?nd?n," "S?nin üçün," "Ayr?l?q bir d?nizmi?," "?ükriya," "Alaq?zl?m," and others, as well as the operetta "Xidhran," remain popular to this day. An important aspect of his work includes music composed for feature films, among which are "I Can't Forget," "Baladadasha's First Love," "Birthday," "The Day Passed," "Interrogation," "Takhmina," "Dede Gorgud," "Our Teacher Jabish" (or "I Remember You, Teacher"), "The Stolen Groom," and others.
