World Olympiad winners may be admitted to universities without entrance examination from this year

Education Ministry (EM) told APA that EM, representatives of Youth and Sport Ministry, Culture and Tourism Ministry, Finance Ministry and Azerbaijani National Academy of Science are working out proposals on the basis of State Program on development of creativity potential of talented children.

One of these proposals is on admission of gold and silver medalists of world Olympiad to universities without examination. List of proposals will be submitted to the Cabinet of Ministers by this year's end.

EM thinks that 10-12 pupils win World Olympiad every year and so they should be able to continue their education. Azerbaijani pupils win Olympiad in physics, Chemistry, Math and informatics.

State Commission on Student Admission chairwoman Maleyka Abbaszade told APA in his previous statement that she disapprove of these proposals, because it is very easy for Olympiad winners to pass entrance exams.
