An investigation has been launched into the death of Azerbaijani serviceman Musazade Asgar, who was fatally injured by a mine explosion in the Jabrayil district.
According to the State Border Service, the explosion occurred while the serviceman, originally from the Lankaran district, was carrying out his official duties. Despite receiving first aid, his injuries proved fatal.
The Military Prosecutor’s Office and the State Border Service are jointly conducting an investigation into the incident.
Mine-related incidents remain a serious threat in liberated territories, continuing to claim lives and hinder safe reconstruction and resettlement.

A soldier of the State Border Service (SBS) of Azerbaijan, Asgar Nijat oglu Musayev, lost his life after stepping on a mine in the Jabrayil region, Azernews reports.
The body of the deceased has been transported to the Lankaran region for burial. Musayev will be laid to rest in the cemetery of Goyshaban village.
The incident once again highlights the ongoing threat posed by mines planted during the years of occupation.
