Tuberculosis found among IAU students on hunger strike

The students of the Independent Azerbaijan University (IAU), who have been going on hunger strike for several days protesting against the Education Ministry's decision, began to felt worse this morning.

The university student Aynur Gurbanova told APA that doctors found out tuberculosis symptoms on striker Etimad Budagov and he was immediately hospitalized. The lecture hall and corridor-venue of the strike have been disinfected.

Other strikers Yegane Seyidova's and Madina Huseynova's health deteriorated at noon. The doctors immediately rendered first aid to them. Another protester Elnur Mammadov's health also deteriorated suddenly, he lost his consciousness. The doctors asked him to stop the strike because of his bad health.

Parliament members Nasib Nasibli and Arzu Samadbayli visited the protesting students this morning. They promised to take necessary steps to solve the students' problems.

Student Gurbanova also said they appealed to the Binagadi district court regarding the university pro-rector, head of the information center of the university Zahir Samadov over his making false allegations against the students.

Samadov has recently informed that the students were formally going on hunger strike, and they go their homes at nights.
