President's decree to increase number of judges

President Ilham Aliyev issued a decree on increasing the number of judges and defining jurisdiction of courts.

The number of judges was increased by 153 under the decree. There will be 38 judges in the Supreme Court, 14 in Nakhchivan Supreme Court, 50 in Baku Court of Appeal, 14 in Ali Bayramli Court of Appeal, 14 in Ganja Court of Appeal, 14 in Sumgayit Court of Appeal, 14 in Sheki Court of Appeal, 35 in Court of Grave Crimes, 4 in Nakhchivan Court of Grave Crimes, 12 in Court Martial for Grave Crimes, 4 in Nakhchivan’s Court Martial for Grave Crimes, 8 in Baku Court Martial, 3 in Agdam Court Martial, 3 in Fuzuli-Gubadli Court Martial, 3 in Ganja Court Martial, 2 in Gazakh Court Martial, 3 in Lenkeran Court Martial, 4 in Sumgayit Court Martial, 2 in Terter Court Martial, 1 in Nakhchivan Economic Court, 5 in Baku local economic court #1, 4 in Baku local economic court #2, 2 in Ali Bayramli local economic court, 2 in Ganja local economic court, 2 in Sumgayit local economic court and 1 in Sheki local economic court.

The Cabinet of Ministers is charged with providing buildings, facilities, communications, transport, special uniforms and other equipment for courts as well as dealing with allocation of salaries for judges taking into account their increased number, APA reports.
