The appeal fixes the violation of the due articles of the European Convention on Human Rights and Freedom of Expression.
Notably, on April 15 of 2006 Mukhalifet newspaper published an article "Who will defend animals". Chairman of the presidium of the lawyers' collegium Azer Taghjiyev regarded the article as humiliating his honor and dignity and appealed to the Yasamal district court.
On March 19 of 2007 the said instance, granting Taghiyev's claim, passed a decision to fine the newspaper on AZN 5,000 and both journalists on the same amount.
It should be reminded that Mukhalifat correspondents Rovshan Kabirli and Yashar Aghazade were pardoned by presidential decree of December 28 of 2007.
