Azerbaijani human rights activists hold monitoring in prison No 16

Members of the public committee for control over the penitentiary system of Azerbaijan's Justice Ministry Alimamed Nuriyev, Eldar Zeynalov and Elmira Alekperova held a monitoring in correctional ward No 16, said one of the members of this committee Alimamed Nuriyev, according to Day.Az.

He said 802 prisoners at a norm of 1,050 people are held in the prison.

The human rights activist said that they visited the diner, the food storage, medical center of the colony and familiarized with the quality of food, served to the prisoners and so on.

"During the meeting, the prisoners announced that they are not subjected to torture or abused and they did not have complaints about the detainment conditions", noted Nuriyev.
