The third session of Azerbaijani women will be held in the capital of Azerbaijan on September 26, reported Hijran Huseynova, head of the state committee for problems of families, women and children, according to Interfax-Azerbaijan.

"This important event is planned to be held in the restored building of Heydar Aliyev's Palace. A huge preparatory work is carried out for the session. Sphere conferences of women of art, lawyers and entrepreneurs, as well representatives of NGOs were held in the capital city. Regional conferences, involving women-leaders, deputies, scientists and cultural figures were held by the committee", said Huseynova.
She noted that the program of the session envisions drawing results of the work, carried out in the sphere of development of women's movement in Azerbaijan through the past five years.
"Perspective directions of the activity of state structures and nongovernmental organizations on strengthening gender equality will be defined. It is also planned to adopt a number of documents for the further promotion of women in the sociopolitical and economic sphere.
Special attention will be paid to problems of development of women's movement in the regions. A TV bridge for contacts with the most remote regions of the country will be arranged for such events for the first time in Azerbaijan", said the head of the state committee.
She noted that the session will involve over 2,000 delegates and guests from Turkey, Russia, United States, Jordan, Georgia, Poland, Kuwait, Lithuania and other countries.
"I would like to note that the initiative of holding a session was proposed by the women of Azerbaijan. We have received numerous letters from the most remote regions of the country, which say that our women want to demonstrate their activeness at the session in the threshold of presidential elections, as well as their loyalty and support to country's leader, President Ilham Aliyev", concluded Huseynova.
