Aircraft with Azerbaijani citizens on board gets off landing strip in Istanbul airport

Boeing 737-400 of Tarom air company, which flied from Bucharest to Istanbul on October 15 got off the landing strip while landing in Istanbul airport named after Ataturk.
The plane stuck in a field beyond the airport.

Day.Az reports with reference to Turkish Hurriyet that the event occurred at 09.30 local time.

There were 83 passengers on board. Most of them were Azerbaijani citizens, residing in Romania. They were heading for Istambul for participating in voting in the general consulate of Azerbaijan on the occasion of presidential elections.

The rescue brigades of the airport service, arriving on the spot, could get the passengers out of the plane. No one suffered in the accident.
