According to Day.Az, the session considered amendments to the law "On geographical names".
Commission chairman Arid Rahimzade announced that in line with the proposed amendments, public opinion will not be taken into account while renaming airports, railway stations and seaports.
Earlier the law envisioned exceptions when public opinion was not taken into account, in restoring the historical names of some areas. Now, the exceptions will include airports, railway stations and seaports.
Another issue on the agenda of the commission allows only lending the municipal lands. The draft amendments also envisions the sale of municipal lands only for construction of an individual residence.
