“Towering in Canakkale” book translated into Azerbaijani presented

"Turkish citizens must know the Karabakh problem as Azerbaijanis know the Canakkale events," Member of Parliament Ganira Pashayeva said at the presentation ceremony on March 17.

Pashayeva said it would be impossible to speak about modern Turkey's reality if the Canakkale battle did not take place.

The member of the parliament said not only youth, but also pupils must read the book.

"This book is patriotism philosophy. The book describes not only heroism of participants of the battle, but also parents who sent their children to the battle. The book plays a great role for Azerbaijan," Turkish-Azerbaijani Interparliamentary Friendship Group Co-chairman Nizami Jafarov said.

Spread of such books in Azerbaijan can strengthen a patriotism spirit, Jafarov said.

"The Canakkale battle is the Turkish nation's most honorable heroism battle. This battle is a battle for Turkey's existence," Azeri-Turk Women Union Chairman Tanzila Rustamkhanli said.

Turkey will always be a leader of the Turkic world and struggle against foreign and interior enemies, she said.
