Notions of “surrogate mother” and “donation” removed from bill on “Protection of reproductive health and family planning”

The notion of “surrogate mother” has been removed from the bill on “Protection of reproductive health and family planning”, MP Malahat Ibrahimgizi, who prepared the bill, told APA.

She said that the document was worked out again after being returned by the parliament, the articles causing dissatisfaction were removed, bill serving the protection of women’s health was prepared. Malahat Ibrahimgizi said preparations were being made to raise the bill to the parliament’s discussion again.

“The bill will be discussed in the parliament early in May. The notions of “surrogate mother” and “donation”, which are not regarded by the society and parliament as unambiguous, have been removed from the bill. I believe that the bill will be adopted this time,” she said.

The bill on “Protection of reproductive health and family planning” was returned as the “surrogate mother” and other notions caused dissatisfaction in the parliament.
