Armenian-captured Azerbaijani sergeant sends letter to his family

Representatives of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in Khankendi visited the sergeant of Azerbaijani Army Anar Khanbaba Hajiyev, who was captured by the Armenian armed forces on May 10, chief of the ICRC international humanitarian law and information department in Azerbaijan Ilaha Huseynova told APA.

The ICRC representatives monitored the health and detention conditions of the captured soldier.
Hajiyev’s family was informed about the meeting on Wednesday and his letter was delivered to his family.

Hajiyev’s mother Naila told APA local bureau that the ICRC officials gave her the son’s letter. She said the letter was short containing only “I am OK. Don’t worry about me”.
Anar Khanbaba Hajiyev, 19 was called up by the Military Commissariat of the Goranboy Region. He was reportedly captured by the Armenian armed forces at about 9.45 on May 10.
