Caucasus Muslims Clerical Office head: Hajj pilgrimage will not be postponed due to swine flu
02 July 2009 [13:52] - TODAY.AZ
I talked to the Ministry of Hajj of Saudi Arabia in connection with the reports that Hajj pilgrimage will be postponed because of the swine flu.
I said the reports had been exaggerated. Saudi Arabia will receive all hajis and everything will be good,” chairman of Caucasus Muslims Clerical Office Sheikh-ul-Islam Allahshukur Pashazadeh told APA’s correspondent in the forum of religious leaders in Kazakhstan.
Pashazadeh said he had met with Nursultan Nazarbayev and Kazakhstan’s President would visit Azerbaijan soon. Allahshukur Pashazadeh noted that a Kazakh colonel was killed in the helicopter crash in Nagorno Karabakh on November 21, 1991 and added that Kazakhstan had also a martyr for Karabakh.
“Nazarbayev has friendly attitude towards Azerbaijan. We hope such religious dialogues will help politicians solve a number of problems, including Karabakh problem,” he said.
