Teachers to be admitted to job via Internet in Azerbaijan: education minister

"First, this innovation will be applied and later on nationwide from 2010/2011 academic year. It is envisaged to place advertisements about vacant jobs at Web site of the education ministry. Teachers willing to get jobs must apply to the ministry of education via e-applications," education minister Misir Mardanov said at the meeting on beginning of a new academic year.

Mardanov also said that the republican meeting of leading education figures will be held in early September.

New academic year will begin in Azerbaijan on September 15. At present, roughly 4,525 secondary schools operate in Azerbaijan with about 170,000 teachers working for them.
