Azerbaijan youth & sports minister may visit Yerevan

Azerbaijan’s youth and sports minister Azad Rahimov may visit Armenia to get familiar with preparations for the coming junior judo championship in Yerevan.

“Once participation of Azerbaijani team in the championship is confirmed, I and head of the national judo federation will visit Yerevan to get familiar with the preparations,” Azerbaijani minister of youth and sports Azad Rahimov said.

The minister said they are concerned about Armenia’s guaranteeing security of Azerbaijani delegation.

Rahimov said that despite Armenia’s assurances about security of all participants in the upcoming tournament, participation of the Azerbaijani national team in the tournament has not been decided yet.

European Junior Judo Championships will be held in Yerevan on September 9-14.
