Turkish President Abdullah Gul plans to visit Azerbaijan to attend the summit of the Turkish-speaking counties, Adviser to Turkish President Huseyn Avni Karslioglu said.

Heads of the Turkish-speaking counties first gathered in 1992 on the initiative of Turkey to unite all Turkish-speaking nations and establish a single Turkish geopolitical area.
There are six large Turkish speaking countries which includes Turkey, Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan.
