Azerbaijani judo team wins three medals in European champonships in Yerevan (UPDATE)

Azerbaijani judo team is participating in a European Judo Championships for Youth in Yerevan.

The first day of the European judo championships has ended in Yerevan, Armenia.

Azerbaijani judo team has already claimed three medals. Fagan Eminoglu (66 kg) won the third medal. He defeated Spanish Ares Herrero and secured a bronze medal of the championships.

Azerbaijani team has already secured two medals.

Rasim Asadullayev (60kg) won the Italian Judoka Amadeo Assorsi and gained a bronze medal of the European Championship.

This is the second medal of the Azerbaijani squad in the tournament.

Azerbaijani judoka Ilgar Mshkiyev lost to Russian Viktor Akshinzade in the finals and claimed a silver medal.

An Azerbaijani judoka has qualified for a final in the European Junior Judo Championship in Armenia.

Ilgar Mushkiyev triumphed over the Romanian sportsmen Kosmin Lazarean in the semi-final. He will meet with the Russian judoka Viktor Achkinadze in the final.

Two other Azerbaijani judokas including Rasim Asadullayev and Fagan Eminoglu could not win their rivals Floren Urani and Artem Buligo in the semi-final.

Asadullayev's rival will be Italian Amadeo Assorsi and Eminoglu's - Spanish Ares Herrero.

A total of five Azerbaijani sportsmen are representing the country in the championship. Other members of the Azerbaijani squad, including Ramin Gurbanov (81kg) and Elmar Gasimov (100kg) will join the contest during the next days of the championship.
