The reconstruction work here began after President Ilham Aliyev gave necessary instructions in July 2006.
The entire collection of the museum comprises over 17,000 items.
President Aliyev and his spouse saw a photostand featuring the museum before and after reconstruction.
The Head of State got acquainted with the design of the museum complex, which is scheduled to be rebuilt.
Azerbaijani leader and his spouse viewed a computer room and library.
The President praised reconstruction and decoration work done here.
“The opening of the museum shows once more that the government of Azerbaijan highly values its art,” said the Head of State.
“Good conditions created here and the display of works of art by Azerbaijani masters at the historical building in the downtown shows the potential of Azerbaijan and how much talent the people of Azerbaijan have,” said the President.
Azerbaijani leader congratulated the museum staff on the reopening of the museum and wished them every success in the future.
