The term of financing of Azerbaijan's Public Television and Radio Company from the state budget has been prolonged till 2014.
It was announced at a sitting of Azerbaijani parliament while amendments to the law on “Public Television and Radio” was being discussed.
Chairman of the parliament’s culture committee Nizami Jafarov gave information about the proposed amendments to the law. He said one of the proposals was to prolong the term of the Public TV's financing from the state budget.
He said the term of TV's financing from the state budget expires at the end of this year.
Jafarov said it is also proposed to make amendment concerning the meeting of the Public TV Broadcasting Board members. It was noted that the board members should meet once in six months, not once in two months. The parliamentarians voted for the amendments.
