Azerbaijani ombudsman initiates holding month of children's rights

Azerbaijani Ombudsman Elmira Suleymanova made an initiative to hold the Month of Children's Rights under the motto "Let us listen to children, ensure their participation" from Oct. 20 to Nov. 20, the press office of the Office of the Ombudsman said.
The main goal of the month is to attract the attention of state agencies, NGOs, civil society, communities and influential international organizations to the protection of children, their social problems, combat HIV/AIDS and drug abuse, help children affected by war, children in need of special care, who were deprived of parental care, as well as identify and address the difficulties experienced by children and adopt appropriate measures in this regard.

As part of the month, it is planned to hold round tables, seminars, trainings in the cities and regions of the country with the support of the local authorities.

It is alsp planned to hold competitions of journalistic work on the theme "Children's Rights for All" and children's drawings on the theme "Our Rights", the winners of which will be announced during the final event.
