Optic cable line was damaged as a result of accident on October 14, technical director of Delta Telecom Rahid Alakbarli said.
He said that today traffic exchange is implemented in three directions from Turkey via Georgia, through underwater cable line via Iran and Russia in north direction.
Alakbarli said that negative impact on functionality of the network was not fixed due to alternative communication lines.
Today third part of traffic accounts for north direction. Volume of incoming and outgoing traffic to Azerbaijan was distributed via other alternative lines due to the incident. As a result, there were less stoppage.
Accident occurred as a result of repair at 10-kilometer part of fiber-optic line near Sumgait (30-35 kilometers of Baku).
About 200 meters of cable, under competence of the Communication and IT Ministry and Aztelekom, were fully damaged.
Specialists constructed temporary optic line to fully restore capacity for work. Communication was fully restored later.
