A secondary school after Mehriban Aliyeva, the president of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, UNESCO and ISESCO Goodwill Ambassador has been inaugurated in Egypt`s Qalyubia Governorate.

The school is the first in Egypt named after a foreign citizen.
The 4-storey 1600-seat school will employ 100 teaching staff.
Head of Azerbaijan`s Absheron Executive Power Zakir Farajov attended the opening ceremony.
The memorandum of understanding on friendship and cooperation between Egypt`s Qalyubia Governorate and Azerbaijan`s Absheron District was one of the main documents signed during Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev`s visit to Egypt two years ago.
The foyer of the school presented a stand of pictures depicting Azerbaijan-Egypt friendship, as well as President Ilham Aliyev`s and Azerbaijan First Lady`s care and attention to science, education, culture and health in the country.
The school includes labs, library, computer room, football and volleyball grounds.
The Azerbaijani delegation and Governor of Qalyubia Adli Hussein familiarized themselves with the School.
Afterwards, Adli Hussein handed over to Zakir Farajov a decree on naming the school after Azerbaijan`s First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva.
Prior to the inauguration, head of the Absheron District Zakir Farajov and his accompanying delegation visited Heydar Aliyev`s monument in Azerbaijan-Egypt Friendship Park in Qalyubia Governorate.
