Baku to host international scientific conference “Dialogue between Civilizations: View from Azerbaijan”

According to the decision passed by the foreign ministers of the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) member countries in their annual coordination meeting in New York on Sept. 26, 2008, series of jubilee events are held on the occasion of OIC’s 40 years anniversary in 2009.

Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said Azerbaijan hosted different meetings, including ministerial within the OIC.

The Diplomatic Academy of the Azerbaijan Ministry of Foreign Affairs and OIC General Secretariat will organize an international scientific conference “Dialogue between Civilizations: View from Azerbaijan” in Baku on Nov. 11-12, 2009 within the cooperation with the OIC.

OIC Secretary General Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu and the number of local and foreign scientists are expected to attend the conference.

The participants will discuss the religious and cultural diversity, Azerbaijan’s experience in this field, problems of the dialogue between the religions and the Islamic geopolitics.
