Azerbaijan's delegation attends discussions on draft standard of Halal products in Istanbul

Committee on Standardization, Metrology and Patents of Azerbaijan said draft standard of "Halal” products was discussed in the Turkish city of Istanbul on Oct. 13-16 upon initiative of the Organization of Islamic Conference.

The discussions of the standard were attended by representatives of 25 Muslim countries, including the delegation from the Committee on Standardization, Metrology and Patents of Azerbaijan. .

The discussions on the draft standard of "Halal" products ended up with divergence of opinions.

Following the discussions the participants decided to send an appeal to the Supreme Islamic Academy. After its review a date for next discussions on “Halal” products will be fixed.
