Azerbaijani journalists visited Borjomi town of Georgia to get familiar with process of delivery of the mineral water to Azerbaijan.
Several instances of fake Borjomi mineral water were recently revealed in wholesale and retail sale in Azerbaijan.
In this regard, Borjomi company management invited journalists from Azerbaijan to visit their factories in Georgia to monitor production and delivery of mineral water from springs in the town of Borjomi to consumers in Azerbaijan.
Azerbaijani journalists visited two factories in the town of Borjomi and personally monitored the entire production process of Borjomi mineral water from production to loading with its further transportation to Azerbaijan and other countries.
Levan Bagdavadze, Vice President of Georgian Glass & Mineral Water, exclusive manufacturer of Borjomi, said at a news conference organized for the Azerbaijani journalists that there were several cases of fake mineral water of the aforementioned brands. All of them were identified and prevented.
Bagdavadze said the company will continue to continue to monitor the process so that Azerbaijani consumers receive only original products.
Additional quality management mechanism of Borjomi is a mandatory certification of these products in Azerbaijan. Customs clearance without certification of this product is impossible. in Azerbaijan
Bagdavadze said in conversation with Day.Az reporter that Azerbaijan ranked third for consumption of the water after Borjomi exports to Russia halted. Exports to Azerbaijan increase each year.
Borjomi is a unique mineral water with natural mineral composition of sodium bicarbonate with sources in the Borjomi gorge. It was discovered in 1840 in the valley of Borjomi, Georgia.
Company Borjomi was founded in 1995. The company is the sole producer of Borjomi and owner of the trademark since 1997.
At present, the company exports 64 percent of its products to 30 countries.
