A total of 410 schools in Baku, Sumgayit and Ganja were disinfected against the “swine flu” threat, Republican Hygienic and Epidemiological Center official Ziyaddin Kazimov said.
He said all secondary schools in Baku, 50 schools in Sumgayit and 44 in Ganja were disinfected last weekend.
He said the center’s staff would conduct disinfection work in other public places too once there is a relevant instruction.
Spokeswoman for Baku Education Office Zamina Aligizi said they have received no application to disinfect kindergartens.
“We disinfected the kindergartens before the beginning of academic year, but it was disinfection not against the epidemic diseases, but against mice and cockroaches”.
