Azerbaijani jazz lives up to expectations of American music lovers

Brilliant performance of Isfar Sarabski, the Azerbaijani jazz pianist, winner of the 2009 Montreux Jazz Festival Solo Piano Competition at Barnsdall Gallery Theater in Los Angeles has become a revelation for Californian jazz lovers.

Azeri jazz, performed by Sarabski, surpassed all expectations and captivated the audience of the U.S. cultural capital.

The first Isfar Sarabski’s jazz piano recital in the United States was sponsored by the Consulate General of Azerbaijan Republic in Los Angeles.

Producer Adrien Trip organized the concert in association with Angel City Jazz Festival company and Café Mod.

While touring California, Isfar Sarabski also held presentation of Azerbaijani jazz at Vibrato jazz club.

Sharing his impressions on the concert, one of the American music critics Don Heckman said called on his readers to remember the name of Isfar Sarabski.

One of the most popular jazz clubs of California – Vibrato is co-owned by Grammy Award Winner Herb Alpert.
