Azerbaijan to attend Mr. World Int'l Contest for first time

Azerbaijan will attend the Mister World pageant in Seoul, Korea on April 17, 2010.
Azerbaijani male model Hafiz Aghayev, who is working for Sergei Nagorny’s Fashion Studio in Belarus, will represent Azerbaijan at the contest, Interfax.by reported.

Aghayev is being trained in Sergei Nagorny’s Studio.

About 80 delegates from all around the world are expected to compete for Mister World 2010 title in Seoul.

Over the 17 days of competition, Mr. World contestants will take part in a series of events that test their strength, stamina, mental agility and determination to succeed in the face of adversity.

Only the very best will make it Live Stage Final where they will then be judged on their style, performance and star quality.

The winner of Mr. World will take home a cash prize of $50,000 USD and the opportunity of lucrative contracts.

The final live telecast will be on April 17, 2010.

Hafiz Aghayev told Interfax.by that Azerbaijan joins this competition for the first time and it is great responsibility for him.

 “I will work hard to inform the world community about Azerbaijani culture and Baku. We have many things to be proud of. Azerbaijani mugham was included by UNESCO in the list of cultural heritages of the mankind. Azerbaijani screenwriter Rustam Ibrahimbeyov is Oscar winner. Azerbaijani folklore art pieces – carpets are saved in the world’s famous museums. I will work hard to represent Azerbaijan worthily”.

Hafiz Aghayev learned English during the training in Belarus for several months. He passed trainings on podium school, fashion show and stage culture. He is working with stylists.

24-year old model was born in Baku.
